CBn recently reported on the staggering 14 nominations that Casino Royale had received on the BAFTA longlist. Today, BAFTA.org reports that Bond girl Eva Green has been nominated for the Orange Rising Star Award, which allows the public to vote for an actor or actress they believe is set for great things.

Waiting to meet the new Bond girl, Eva Green, I am busy imagining what she'd be like in real life - spectacular cleavage, smouldering siren pout? - when the woman herself walks into the room. You couldn't imagine someone less like the 007 vixen: think indie film ingenue with long, hippie dark hair, pale face and waifish frame, eyes rimmed with extravagant black kohl, and an air of nervous, almost twitchy energy.

The actress revealed all in The Dreamers but says she feels no embarrassment at all about the full frontal nudity.
She told the Sun: "I'm so proud of this movie. I got on so well with those boys. I felt like I could be silly when I was naked, otherwise you'd go crazy.”

There's a scene in the new James Bond film Casino Royale in which Vesper Lynd, the new "Bond girl" -- a name given to the beautiful and doomed girlfriends or villainesses who variously sashay, undress, seduce or die in the 007 series -- is sitting under a shower, fully clothed. Vesper, played by the French beauty Eva Green, has just witnessed Bond beat a man to death, and the scene has what Green calls "that Lady Macbeth feel" as Vesper tries to cleanse herself of the metaphorical blood.

Eva Green is stunning. Seductive, smart and those eyes, those eyes! Which is why it baffles me that the French actress and newest Bond girl would show up at the premieres of the "Casino Royale" looking like something Igor dragged in

Eva Green, metal briefcase clutched tightly in hand, is dangling over a narrow Venetian bridge, hotly pursued by Daniel Craig. The fine, alabaster features of the 28-year-old French actress are offset by a shock of black hair and a vivid red dress.
Eva Green plays Vesper Lynd, a British Treasury official. She and the secret agent (Craig) fall in love. But this being a Bond film - and, crucially, this being a Bond film based on Ian Fleming's debut Bond novel - the course of true love does not run smoothly.
